2024 SPRING LEAGUE

Competition Information

When and Where:
The 2024 Spring Season will run from 19 October to 30 November (excluding 26 October for Labour Weekend), spanning 6 weeks. All games will be played on Saturdays at Pinehurst School, Bush Road, Albany, from 8:45am until mid-afternoon, based on a weekly draw. The exact time for the final game will depend on the number of teams.

Rounds for Year 1, Year 2, and Year 6 Teams:
Game times are assigned randomly. Players must be available to play throughout the day. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate requests for specific times due to other sports or activities. Game times may be adjusted based on the number of entries.

Rounds for Year 3, Year 4, and Year 5 Teams:
Games will start at 8:45am and continue throughout the day until about 2:00pm. In the Spring League, we traditionally start with the Year 3 games in the early rounds, followed by Year 4, with Year 5 games scheduled later in the day. This means younger players will play earlier, while Year 5 games are scheduled towards the later rounds. Please note that all Year 3 - 5 players must be available during these times, and we are unable to accommodate specific time requests. Game times may be adjusted as needed.

Time Requests:
Time
Requests will only be considered for reasons related to netball, such as an umpire managing two teams or a coach with two teams. All requests must be submitted by Friday, 27 September 2024, using the provided form. Late requests will not be accepted.

Netball Variants:
We offer netball variants to suit each year level:

  • Year 1: Non-competitive 6-a-side netball.
  • Year 2 and Up: 7-a-side netball with rule variations to help players transition smoothly into the full game as they mature. Further details can be found here.

Team Registrations:
This league is designed for teams, not individual players. Teams can be made up of school groups, clubs, or friends (they don’t need to be affiliated with a school).

  • Teams may combine players from different year levels (e.g., a Year 1 player in a Year 2 team).
  • Year 1 teams (6-a-side) must have a minimum of 6 players, while all other teams require at least 7 players. Games can start with a minimum of 5 players.
  • The recommended maximum number of players per team for Year 2 to Year 6 is 10.
  • Year 1 teams from the 2024 Winter League may choose to play standard 7-a-side netball.

Boys in the League:
Each team may have up to 2 boys on the court, with a maximum of 1 boy allowed in the goal circle at any time.

League Format:
The Spring League is non-competitive. Teams will be grouped informally based on skill and experience to ensure a balanced and enjoyable experience for all participants.
